Services > Safety Color-coding Services
According to ANSI Standard 535.1 certain parts of machines shall be color-coded. In general,
machine guards should be coded yellow, dangerous parts of the machine or the area surrounding
them should be orange. Stop effectors should be red. Emergency stop buttons and panels should
be red with a yellow background. Start effectors, such as machine control buttons should be green.
ReiTech has developed and provides a color coding service whereby machine parts to be
color coded are:
- Carefully disassembled to component level,
- Fully cleaned, sanded and prepped for painting,
- Primed and re-painted in accordance with ANSI 535.1 standards
- Re-assembled and checked for proper operation
The resultant finish is as good as or better than the OEM surface. Instructors find that students
readily learn where the guards on a particular machine are and that the dangerous parts are easily
identifiable, even from across the classroom.
Qualified local contractors can also perform this work in accordance with ReiTech's specifications.
